Plastic Boards

2012 was the year of the retro plastic skateboard. In the mid to late '70s, plastic skateboards popped up as a cheap solution for toy companies to tap into the fad. This year, Globe, Penny, Banana Boards, Stereo's Vinyl Cruisers and more flooded the market and introduced skateboarding to a whole new generation. With bright, multiple colors that made plastic boards look more like toys, more kids started skating down their sidewalks. If one out of every three plastic board users gets the skateboarding bug, then the future looks bright.
