For the glorious gift that is the SkyCam, you can thank Little House on the Prairie. Cinematographer Garrett Brown came up with the idea in 1979 while working on the set of the TV drama with cast member and NFL Hall of Famer Merlin Olsen. "He was complaining that football coverage didn't show what was actually happening because all the cameras were way off in the sidelines," Brown says.
