When John Paulson couldn't find a decent pitching machine for his slugger sons, he decided to invent one himself. Smart move. In 1971 Paulson founded Jugs Sports with his curveball pitching machine, named for the once-common jug-handle curveball. Later, the company got into the gridiron business, and today a Jugs football machine can be found in every NFL training facility.
