Rise: He hit 10 home runs as a rookie in August and September of 1998, landed on the cover of Sports Illustrated and won three World Series with the Yankees (1998-2000).

Fall: After 1998, he became a part-time player and played more than 100 games in only one season; he was out of the league in 2004 with 59 career homers and 242 career RBIs.

The latest: He's the hitting/third base coach for the Somerset Patriots of the Atlantic League, an independent baseball outfit.
