Former Penn State assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky is convicted of 45 counts of sexual abuse against children and sentenced to at least 30 years in prison. Penn State removes the statue of Joe Paterno in front of Beaver Stadium and former FBI director Louis Freeh releases the 267-page "Freeh Report," which places blame on Paterno, former Penn State president Graham Spanier and the university's board of trustees for mishandling the first reports against Sandusky. The NCAA hands Penn State a four-year BCS bowl ban and a $60 million fine.
