If architecture is Barcelona's calling card, then Antoni Gaudí is the man whose name it bears. The famed architect also dabbled in furniture, urban planning and landscape architecture. He was fatally injured in a tram accident in 1926 and is buried in the Carmen chapel in the crypt of La Sagrada Família -- the church whose construction he supervised and which continues to this day.
