It was small, hot and often malodorous, as the best gyms should be. This was the place where Angelo Dundee and his brother Chris, who founded the gym in 1950, watched generations of fighters now lost to time. But a few, like Floyd Patterson and a kid named Cassius Clay, became immortals.
