"This photo is a defining moment for me where several of my passions aligned perfectly to create an image that I had been visualizing," said Dickerson of this photo shot in the Turnagain Arm, located in the Cook Inlet in the Gulf of Alaska, where he and friends ride swells for up to five miles.
"Like most good things in life, it didn't come easy, and I couldn't have done it without the help of some friends. It was an incredible morning with a picture-perfect wave and beautiful light from the sunrise. My three friends managed to ride the wave for about 40 minutes."
