Hyun Gyu Lim will meet Tarec Saffiedine in the main event of UFC Fight Night 34 on Jan. 4. Lim replaces Jake Ellenberger, who recently withdrew from the bout due to injury.
UFC officials confirmed the new matchup on Friday, following initial reports out of Brazil. The welterweight headliner will remain a five-round fight. UFC Fight Night 34 takes place in Singapore and will be the promotion's first live event in Southeast Asia.
Lim (12-3-1) had already been scheduled to compete on the card against Kiichi Kunimoto. The South Korean welterweight is 2-0 since signing with the UFC this year, including a first-round knockout over Pascal Krauss in August.
Saffiedine (14-3) has not fought since claiming the Strikeforce welterweight title following a unanimous decision win over Nate Marquardt in January. This will mark the 27-year-old's first appearance in the UFC.
