DETROIT -- The Detroit Lions are officially without two of their top three cornerbacks for Monday night's game against Baltimore.
Both Chris Houston, one of the Lions' starters, and Darius Slay are officially inactive for Detroit. Neither absence comes as much of a surprise, though, as the players did not practice at all this week.
Slay was always expected to be out as he recovers from a torn meniscus. Houston was likely going to be out with a toe injury, one of the many injuries he has had this season.
Detroit will now start veteran Rashean Mathis, who has started 11 games for the Lions this season and has 41 tackles. In place of Houston, Detroit will start Jonte Green, who has played sparingly this season.
Green started seven games at cornerback for Detroit last season, but has only three tackles this season.
Also, tackle Corey Hilliard is active for the first time since injuring his knee against Cincinnati in October. The Lions deactivated Jason Fox in place of Hilliard.
