Phil Mickelson, who skipped this week's Hyundai Tournament of Champions and its guaranteed money as well as world rankings points, instead spent his Sunday watching his beloved San Diego Chargers defeat the Cincinnati Bengals 27-10 in the NFL playoffs.

Mickelson, who is ranked No. 5 in the world, has not played the winners-only event since 2001 and won it twice when it was held at La Costa Country Club in Carlsbad, Calif.
Several media tweets showed Mickelson sporting a powder-blue Chargers cap along with wife, Amy, as they celebrated San Diego's victory in Cincinnati.
The Chargers will play Peyton Manning and the No. 1-seeded Denver Broncos on Sunday. The Mickelsons are expected to be in the Mile High City for the game.
