PARK CITY, Utah -- American Hannah Kearney won the women's moguls with 24.83 points Thursday night on the opening day of the World Cup freestyle event at Deer Valley Ski Resort.
Kearney, the Olympic champion from Norwich, Vt., prevented a podium sweep by Canada in both men's and women's moguls finals.
Defending World Cup dual moguls champion Chloe Dufour-Lapointe was second behind Kearney with 23.45 points. She edged younger sister Justine Dufour-Lapointe, who took third with 23.33 points.
Canada's Mikael Kingsbury had 26.39 points to win the men's final. It is the third straight World Cup moguls win for Kingsbury to open the season. Alex Blodeau was second at 25.29, and Marc-Antoine Gagnon third with 24.85.
The event continues Friday night with men's and women's aerial finals.
