Duke senior guard Chelsea Gray will miss the rest of the season with a right knee injury.
Gray, a coaches all-America selection last season, fractured her right kneecap in Sunday's 78-57 win against Boston College and will have surgery.
"Chelsea is such a fighter, such a trooper, such a great person," Duke coach Joanne P. McCallie said, according to The Herald-Sun of Durham, N.C. "Obviously we are extremely disappointed. It's been a really sad day, a really sad day for our program. Our hearts go out to Chelsea and her family. We are all trying to work through this together. Take it one day at a time."
Gray previously dislocated the same kneecap in February. She was named ACC co-player of the year despite missing the postseason.
She was averaging 10.8 points and 7.2 assists per game for No. 3 Duke.
Recovery time will be about four months, The Herald-Sun reported.
