The Armed Forces Bowl has a new local sponsor.

Lockheed Martin, which has portions of its company based in Fort Worth and Grand Prairie, Texas, will become the title sponsor of the game, played at TCU's Amon Carter Stadium, for the next three years. The company has an option to extend that agreement, as well.

"We are absolutely thrilled to have Lockheed Martin on board as the title sponsor of our event," Brant Ringler, executive director of the Lockheed Martin Armed Forces Bowl, said in a release. "Their deep commitment to the armed services is a perfect fit with everything our bowl stands for. Having a world-renowned, local company involved with our game is going to be great for North Texas area football fans, participating universities and their fans; and most importantly the armed forces community we honor."

Lockheed Martin employees more than 15,000 people in North Texas.

The date of this year's game has not been determined, but will feature a school from the American Athletic Conference against one of the U.S. military academies, as long as it is eligible.

Last year, Navy defeated Middle Tennessee State, 24-6, in front of an announced crowd of 39,246.
