Free-agent pitcher Paul Maholm has finalized a one-year, $1.5 million deal with the Los Angeles Dodgers, the team announced Saturday.
Maholm, 31, was at the Dodgers' spring training camp in Glendale, Ariz., to take a physical exam Saturday morning. Reporters covering the team spotted the left-hander in the clubhouse and said the team had set aside a locker for him.
Maholm is 76-95 with a 4.28 ERA over nine seasons with the Pittsburgh Pirates, Chicago Cubs and Atlanta Braves.
He would add depth to a Dodgers rotation that includes Clayton Kershaw, Zack Greinke, Hyun-Jin Ryu and Dan Haren. In addition, veterans Josh Beckett and Chad Billingsley continue to make comebacks from injuries.
