PHILADELPHIA -- Philadelphia Flyers defenseman Nicklas Grossmann's playoffs are over.
The Flyers announced Grossmann underwent surgery Tuesday to repair tendon damage in his right ankle and will be out for the next eight to 10 weeks.
Grossmann suffered the injury during Game 4 of the Flyers' first-round series against the New York Rangers.
Veteran blueliner Hal Gill replaced Grossmann in the lineup for the Flyers' Game 5 loss, but coach Craig Berube went with Erik Gustafsson for a different look in Tuesday's Game 6 with the Flyers trailing 3-2 in the series.
