Troubled San Francisco 49ers linebacker Aldon Smith returned to Twitter Monday night for the first time since his April 13 arrest at LAX.
Smith took to Twitter late Monday night:
Stay positive and always give your best effort, eventually you will overcome your immediate problems and find you are ready for greater tests- Aldon Smith (@AldonSmith) May 6, 2014
It was Smith's first public comments of any kind since he was arrested for a fake bomb threat. The Los Angeles County Attorney office is considering misdemeanor charges.
Smith has a May 12 court date in Santa Clara County Superior Court on felony gun charges and a drunken driving charge. Smith could also face NFL discipline.
The 49ers exercised his 2015 $9.75 million option for the 2015 season on Friday. Smith, 24, is working with his teammates in the 49ers' offseason program.
