CHICAGO -- Cubs manager Rick Renteria was ejected from his team's 8-3 loss to the Chicago White Sox in the fifth inning on Wednesday night for arguing balls and strikes with home plate umpire Tom Woodring.
"They have a tough job," Renteria said. "At certain times we disagree so we let them know."
After Renteria had gone to the mound to change pitchers he began jawing with Woodring near home plate and was soon tossed.
Replays show Cubs starter Travis Wood being squeezed most of the night while Woodring called two questionable strikes on Anthony Rizzo during a Cubs rally the inning before.
It's the third time this season Renteria has been ejected from a game. That leads major league baseball.
