The Pittsburgh Pirates activated Wandy Rodriguez off the 15-day disabled list Thursday after the left-hander was sidelined by right knee inflammation.
Rodriguez started Thursday's game against the Brewers, getting a no-decision as Milwaukee rallied for 4-3 victory in the bottom of the ninth.
Rodriguez allowed solo homers to Rickie Weeks and Martin Maldonado but struck out four in his first start since April 19. He is now 0-2 with a 6.84 ERA in five starts this season.
He struggled in two rehab starts, posting a 10.38 ERA in starts for Triple-A Indianapolis.
He did not pitch after June 5 last season because of tightness in his forearm.
Outfielder Jaff Decker was optioned to Indianapolis to make room for Rodriguez.
