The Cleveland Browns will have Josh Gordon on the practice field this week as the wide receiver awaits word on a potential season-long suspension.
Coach Mike Pettine said it is his "expectation" that Gordon would take part in OTAs, Pettine told The Associated Press at a breakfast at First Energy Stadium on Monday.
Gordon is reportedly facing a one-year minimum ban from the NFL for a positive drug test this offseason.
If the Browns are unsure of Gordon's status, they are in a tough spot regarding how much practice time to give him. They must decide if they want to prepare him for the season or give more reps to others they know will be around.
If they are sure, however, how he's handled -- i.e. limited reps -- could be a good indicator.
Wednesday's practice is open to the media.
It's not known if Gordon will address his situation publicly.
