A heavyweight fight between Roy Nelson and Mark Hunt will headline a UFC Fight Night event on Sept. 21 in Saitama, Japan.
UFC officials formally announced the bout Friday. The event, which takes place at Saitama Super Arena, will air on the UFC's Internet subscription service Fight Pass.
Nelson (20-9) scored a walk-off knockout victory over Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira in the first round of a heavyweight bout last month. The win snapped a two-fight losing streak for the Las Vegas-based fighter.
Since signing with the UFC in 2009, Nelson, 37, has compiled a 7-5 record. All seven wins have come via knockout.
Hunt (9-8-1) last fought in December, when he battled Antonio Silva to a majority draw in a back-and-forth five-round fight. The Australian heavyweight is winless in his last two appearances, after winning four consecutive fights previously.
The main event is the only fight currently announced for the UFC Fight Night card.
