Rory McIlroy gets his clubs back

ESPN.com news services

Rory McIlroy has his golf clubs back just in time for the Irish Open.

The world's sixth-ranked player tweeted Wednesday that he has received his clubs from United Airlines, which originally lost them when McIlroy traveled from the United States to Ireland for the European Tour event at Fota Island Resort in Cork earlier this week.

McIlroy took to Twitter on Tuesday when he landed in Dublin after a flight from Newark, New Jersey, but didn't have his clubs.

Hey @united landed in Dublin yesterday morning from Newark and still no golf clubs... Sort of need them this week... Can someone help!?

United Airlines responded, tweeting: "We have good news. Your clubs will be in tomorrow and we'll deliver them to the tournament for you."

The Irish Open begins Thursday.
