NEW YORK -- Nick Delmonico, a minor league third baseman in the Milwaukee Brewers' organization, has been suspended for 50 games after testing positive for an amphetamine.
The penalty was imposed Monday by the commissioner's office.
The 22-year-old Delmonico, acquired from the Orioles in 2013 in the Francisco Rodriguez trade, was playing for Class A Brevard County of the Florida State League. He was hitting .262 with four home runs and 15 RBIs.
