Jamaal Charles to miss game Sunday

By Adam Teicher

Jamaal Charles
The Chiefs will be without running back Jamaal Charles Sunday night, but the team does not believe the injury is serious.

Running back Jamaal Charles will not play for the Kansas City Chiefs in tonight's preseason game against the Carolina Panthers because of a bruised foot. Charles did not accompany the team to Charlotte for the game.

The Chiefs didn't appear concerned that the injury was serious. The plan was to get Charles ready for the next exhibition game on Saturday night against the Minnesota Vikings at Arrowhead Stadium.

Knile Davis was scheduled to start tonight's game at running back. The Chiefs also have Cyrus Gray and rookies De'Anthony Thomas and Charcandrick West available.
