SEATTLE -- Seattle Mariners second baseman Robinson Cano returned to the starting lineup Monday night, a day after removing himself from a game due to the effects of an illness.
Cano batted third and went 1-for-4 in the Mariners' 2-0 loss to the Texas Rangers.
Manager Lloyd McClendon confirmed that Cano was feeling better and that nobody else caught the illness. First baseman Logan Morrison missed Saturday's game due to a similar illness.
Cano leads the Mariners with a .326 batting average and is reaching base at a clip of .393.
