New coach Tippett adds Lamb to staff

Associated Press

DALLAS -- The Dallas Stars have hired Mike Lamb, a former player and coach, as an assistant coach, team officials announced Monday.

Lamb will join Rick Wilson and Andy Moog on the coaching staff of recently hired head coach Dave Tippett. Lamb was given a three-year contract; financial terms were not disclosed.

The 38-year-old spent the last two seasons with Edmonton as the Oilers assistant coach of development.

A center throughout his 16-year professional career, Lamb returned to the Oilers after ending his professional playing career in 1999-2000 with the Houston Aeros of the International Hockey League.
