Your turn: Let Pete into Cooperstown?
In Cincinnati, 93 percent of sports fans think Pete Rose should be in the Baseball Hall of Fame. No big surprise there. But we were surprised to find out that 84 percent of our readers across SportsNation agree.
We surveyed over 40,000 randomly selected sports fans (registered ESPN.com users) from across the U.S., and asked them, "Should Pete Rose be in the Hall of Fame?" We thought we might find that Pete Rose is a man without a country. But in SportsNation, Rose rules.
Among fans who watched Rose in his prime, his support is a little softer -- only 76 percent of fans age 45 and up think the powers that be should allow Rose to enter the Hall through the front door.
Younger fans are at the other extreme -- among fans 24 and under, eight out of nine (88 percent) support his Cooperstown candidacy.
