2002 recap
The good: Finished second at Denver and pressed winner Bruno Junqueira to the checkered flag. Came from 15th to fifth at Mid-Ohio and started on the front row at Miami.

  • Season highlight: When PacWest Racing folded, Dixon moved to Target/Ganassi, where he qualified fourth and ran sixth in his debut.

The bad: Losing his primary ride and joining a team in mid-season as the No. 3 driver.

  • Season lowlight: Going for the lead at Miami, was squeezed into the wall by Tony Kanaan and knocked out of competition.

Key stat: After becoming youngest winner in CART history in 2001, the 22-year-old never led a lap in 2002.

    2003 outlook
Wanted to remain in CART but contractual obligations require he run in IRL next season, where he teams with Tomas Scheckter.
