HAVRE -- Big plays helped top-ranked and defending NAIA champion Carroll College down Montana State-Northern 58-17 Saturday.

Tyler Emmert passed for 217 yards and two touchdowns and DJ Dearcorn rushed for 113 yards and two more scores for the Saints (6-0 overall, 4-0 Frontier).

Dearcorn rushed for a 24-yard touchdown with 12:31 left in the first quarter, caught a 55-yard TD pass from Emmert with 9:21 left in the first and scored on a 54-yard run with 14:43 left in the third for the Saints (6-0).

Emmert's final touchdown was a 99-yard pass play to Mark Gallik to give the Saints a 58-10 lead with 10:22 left in the third quarter.

Carroll also got touchdowns when Tim Bowman returned a kickoff 94 yards with 13:26 left in the second quarter, and Regan Mack returned an interception 76 yards with 12:45 left in the third.

Robb Latrielle passed for 93 yards, including a 6-yard touchdown to Zack Zawacki, for the Saints.

It was the third straight week Carroll has scored more than 50 points.

Northern (1-4, 1-3) scored first on a 1-yard run by Tanner Cochrell with 13:26 left in the second quarter to pull within 24-7. The Lights got within 30-10 on a 19-yard field goal by Chris Nagel. Jeff Fisher passed 14 yards to FreddieBrown for Northern's final touchdown with 3:18 remaining.

Neill Crandell passed for 230 yards for Northern, but was intercepted twice. Cochrell led Northern's rushing game with 84 yards on 21 carries.
