Giants LG Seubert breaks right leg
EAST RUTHERFORD, New Jersey - New York Giants left
guard Rich Seubert suffered a fractured right tibia in Sunday's
14-10 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.
Seubert was injured in the first quarter while blocking on a
running play. The 6-5, 305-pounder had his leg immobilized and
was taken off the field on a cart.
The Giants announced after the game that Seubert was taken to
the Hospital for Special Surgery in Manhattan. He was expected
to undergo surgery sometime later Sunday.
It is uncertain how long Seubert will be sidelined. He was
replaced by rookie Jeff Roehl.
Losing Seubert is a blow to the Giants, who have two new
starters on their offensive line this season. Seubert and left
tackle Luke Petitgout were only two starters in their original
position from last season.
The latest loss by the Giants (2-4) dropped them into last place
in the NFC East.
