JUCO forward headed to Charlotte

One of the nation's top junior college forwards, E.J. Drayton of Charlotte-Vance, NC/Raleigh-Bonner Academy, NC/Colby CC, Kan., has pledged to Charlotte over Iowa State. Among others showing interest were Florida, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Clemson, Texas A&M, North Carolina State, Syracuse and Oregon.

St. Bonaventure has a pledge from guard Willie Morse of State College, Pa., who had earlier decommitted from Penn State.

Eighty-one prospects on the early Class 2004 Top 100 have already made commitments. List of remaining Top 100 Prospects.

Texas, Indiana and Louisville lead the early 2004 Top Classes. Florida State led the 2003 Top Classes.

Tulane pledged forward Matt Wheaton of Katy-Mayde Creek, Tex., over interest from Kansas State, Texas A&M, South Alabama and Stephen F. Austin. The Green Wave recently gained center/forward Robinson Louisme of Fort Myers, Fla.

East Carolina gained forward Mike Castro of Washington, DC-Springarn/Allegany CC, Md.

Guard Jason Harris of Upland, Cal/Chaffey CC, Cal., committed to Sacramento State.

Furman pledged guard Jadee Jones of Minnetonka-Hopkins, Minn.

Forward Quade Milum of Dayton-White, Ohio, picked Akron over Wright State and Eastern Kentucky.

New Hampshire pledged guard Chris Vetrano of Andover, NH.
