Sixers pick up option on Dalembert

PHILADELPHIA -- Samuel Dalembert's contract option was picked up by the Philadelphia 76ers on Friday after he spent all of last season on the injured list.

Dalembert, entering his third season with the 76ers, had surgery to repair cartilage in his left knee. He played in 34 games his rookie season, which was shortened by tendinitis and bursitis in his left knee.

The 6-foot-11, 250-pounder was Philadelphia's first-round pick in the 2001 draft after playing two years at Seton Hall.
