Houston signs reliever Miceli
HOUSTON -- The Houston Astros agreed to terms with journeyman
right-handed reliever Dan Miceli on a one-year deal Tuesday, making
him the first of 210 free agents to sign.
Miceli, 33, will make $600,000 this season, up from $350,000
The Astros acquired Miceli from the New York Yankees on July 29.
It was his fourth stop of the 2003 season, and he went 1-1 with a
2.10 ERA in 30 innings for Houston.
Overall, Miceli was 2-4 with a 3.20 ERA last year with Colorado,
Cleveland, New York and Houston. He became the first person to
pitch for teams in four divisions in a single season.
Miceli has pitched for nine teams over 11 seasons, compiling a
35-42 record and a 4.59 ERA.
