Q: Why don't I see the teams I purchased on the front page of the game?|
A: This is likely due to the credit card used failing to authorize the purchase. Please call 888 549 ESPN (3776) or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org for assistance. After the account information has been corrected simply make the purchase again as we will not reinstate the previous team(s). Q: Why don't I see my team displayed on my league page?
A: Make sure you click on your FFL team directly from the FFL Frontpage (http://games.espn.go.com/cgi/ffl/frontpage), not the Fantasy Games Frontpage (Homepage). From there, click on your Team link first before clicking on the League link. This will establish you as the owner of the team and help us recognize you as such on the league page. Q: How do I change my team name?
A: You can change your team name by clicking on the Team Name link on your team page. Q: How do I join a league?
A: You can locate a league with the parameters (e.g. scoring type, draft date..etc.) you want by clicking on the league directory link located on your team page. Q: How do I move from one league to another?
A: If you haven't yet drafted you can simply go to the new league page, and join it. You will be automatically removed from your former league. Q: What do I have to do to join a Winners or Keeper League?
A: "Winners Leagues" are only for users who won a FFL championship in 2003. Users who qualify must purchase their teams under the same account that the winning team was listed under. If you don't qualify, don't despair - there will be "Winners" leagues next year as well! Keeper leagues are reserved for people that purchased a keeper team (a team lasting three years). For more information see keeper leagues in the rules. Q: How do I cancel a team?
A: Please call 888 549 ESPN (3776) or send an e-mail to email@example.com and request cancellation. As long as your team hasn't drafted you will be allowed to cancel the team. This may require 2 to 3 working days to process. Q: How can I change my draft date, scoring option, or league parameters?
A: You can not change these parameters once they are set. If you wish to change the date of your draft or scoring option, you will need to leave your league through the link provided and join/create a new league with the correct draft date. FFL's draft dates, which are expected to begin early July, will be added as the start of the season nears.
Q: Why can't I get into my live draft?|
A: This error is most often the result of an owner attempting to access his/her war room from the games frontpage instead of from the FFL frontpage. You need to first click on the FFL game itself, then onto your league link to enter into the war room. For additional information see the draft tips and troubleshooting page. Q: Why didn't my list draft run at its scheduled time?
A: Your list draft most likely didn't run because your league was not full when the final drafts were processed and it could not be combined with any other leagues that have the same specifications that you do (draft type, skill, and scoring type). Your league will be attempted to be combined with others on the next available list draft date. You can join another league if you'd like by clicking on the league directory. Q: What happens if my league doesn't fill by the draft date?
A: A live draft league must be full or the live draft can not be held. If a live draft league is not full (less than 10 teams) at the scheduled draft time, it will not be run. Owners still interested in using the live draft will have to join another live draft league and reschedule for a later date. List draft leagues that are not full by draft time will be combined with other incomplete list leagues in order to run their draft. Q: What is the difference between the Java and HTML draft lists?
A: In terms of result, there is no difference. Java and HTML are just two different ways to rank your players. Some users find the Java lists a little quicker and a little easier to use, but some browsers have problems supporting this option. For information regarding the differences between the Java and HTML live drafts themselves please see the Live Draft Method section of the rules. Q: What if my Java live draft crashes?
A: If you have a few minutes before your pick, shutdown and reopen your browser, and reload the applet. If you think you may be short on time, you should probably use the HTML version for a round, and then reload the applet when you have a few minutes between picks. For additional information see the draft tips and troubleshooting page. Q: Can I transfer my offline (paper, chat) draft into an ESPN FFL League?
A: The single-list draft method makes drafting your pre-determined teams easy. Simply have every team owner place their predrafted players in the top 16 slots, and that's who they will receive as long as it doesn't violate any positional maximums or minimums. Due to risks involved (group must be full, all owners must set their lists properly), these drafters should be aware that their drafts are not sanctioned by the League Office and should be undertaken with the realization that something may go awry. Owners will be held responsible for correcting any errors in the drafting, by using trades and waiver claims.
Q: When can I trade players?|
A: Players can be traded between teams from the time each team is drafted until the season trade deadline. Trades must be accepted prior to 9:00 a.m. two days before the first game of the week for the trade to process prior to the upcoming week's match-up. For more information on trade deadlines see trade overview in the rules. Q: Why do trades take so long?
A: The delay is to give the other owners in the league the opportunity to review the deal. The other teams in the league are allowed 36 hours to review a trade. Then, the League Office can take up to 12 hours to review a protested trade. Note that the 12 hour League Office review period does not necessarily begin at the time the trade is first protested, but will not delay a trade beyond the original process time. To assure the needed attention, it ends up being a 48 hour wait which is why it is always a good idea to make trades early on in the week. See the trade overview page for instructions on how to turn off the protest capability of a trade. Q: Why are my players locked when they are involved in a trade?
A: Because we need to make sure all rosters are valid. Otherwise, owners could make a trade, but then invalidate their roster by switching a player in an involved position. Example: You trade QB David Carr for QB Tom Brady, designating Brady to the bench and Daunte Culpepper to the QB slot. Well, if we let you switch Culpepper around, you may not have a player playing at QB when the trade is executed, leaving you with an invalid roster. Q: Why was my trade vetoed?
A: We are sorry, but there is no way to get any additional explanation from our trade review panel as they only correspond through trade decisions. All decisions made by the trade panel are final and we have full confidence in their ability to judge trades. We believe that our trade review is a valuable part of making the games fair for all owners involved. If you wish to state a case for your trade, please feel free to submit the trade again, and protest your own trade to explain your side of it. Your comments will be considered.
Q: Why am I missing statistics for one of my players?|
A: The league office makes the statistics official for the week on Tuesday. This allows for time to convert our scoring systems and to rerun incorrect statistics. Please do not email the league office until the stats are final. Q: Why didn't I get credit for a player on Monday Night Football when I started him at game time?
A: With the exception of Monday night's game, players can be inserted into a team's active roster at the games kickoff. Players in Monday night's game must be inserted into a team's active roster by 11:59 p.m. PT Sunday night for their stats to count. Q: Why does my defense always have 10 points before their game starts?
A: In FFL, you get 10 points for a shutout. Before the game starts, the box score shows the team gaining 10 points as your defensive team hasn't yet given up any points. As the game wears on, and they start to give up points, that number will decrease.
Q: Why does my browser crash when I try to access ESPN.com fantasy games?|
A: Make sure you have Flash 5.0 on your computer. To download this version, click on "Install Now" at: Q: It's first thing Wednesday morning. Why haven't waivers cleared yet?
A: Waivers process beginning at 4 a.m. PT. Due to the high volume of waiver claims at certain times of the season, it may take multiple hours for all waivers for all leagues to process. Q: When will rookies/new players be added to the player pool?
A: Once the player pool is initially set, rookies need to play in one game in order to be added to the player pool. These players will clear waivers the following Thursday. Players who do not currently reside in the FFL player pool may be added on Tuesday following each week of NFL play and cleared on Thursday.
