Adam Dunn leads our picks for Tuesday. Dunn and the Reds host the New York Mets and Tom Glavine in Cincinnati. Dunn has a career .364 average against Glavine in eleven at-bats and has hit .318 with three home runs in his past six games.
Jose Valentin and the White Sox head to Minnesota in a big AL Central showdown with the Twins. Carlos Silva takes the hill for the Twins and Valentin has a career .429 average with one home run against Silva. Valentin also has the benefit of a huge trade pickup to boost morale in the clubhouse. Sleeper Pick
Brad Fullmer and the Rangers head to Seattle to face a struggling Mariner ballclub. Joel Pineiro takes the mound for Seattle and Fullmer has a career .321 average with one home run in 28 at-bats. Pineiro was also visibly upset after the trade of Freddy Garcia. It is hard to believe that he will be completely focused.
Rounce's IMF Team Update
I had no players on Friday or Sunday, one by strategy and one by circumstances. My player on Saturday, Carlos Lee, gave me an 0-for-4 day. I have now missed my three games for the month and look forward to finishing strong. I have Kevin Mench for tonight as he goes against Ryan Franklin and the Mariners.
Diamond Daily happenings
After the weekend, there are two entries tied atop the home run leaderboard with 13. Richard Britton holds the current tie-breaker with a better average (they are tied in RBI). Michael French holds the current lead in the RBI category, but just by one. Steve Smith holds the lead in the average leaderboard as we come down to the wire. Smith has also met the minimum at-bat requirements and does not have to hit anybody for the rest of the month. The difference between the leader and second place, though, is only .003.
