Oct. 5, 2004 -- Giambi is left off postseason roster for both ALDS and ALCS.
July 30, 2004 -- Giambi is diagnosed with benign tumor reportedly in the pituitary gland and is placed on 15-day disabled list.
June 29, 2004 -- Giambi is diagnosed with intestinal parasite.
April 25, 2004 -- Victor Conte's lawyers acknowledge a government memorandum that says Conte provided steroids to a number of high-profile athletes, but deny that Conte actually admitted to providing steroids to the athletes and that Conte specifically named the athletes. The 27 athletes allegedly named include Barry Bonds, Giambi, Gary Sheffield, Marion Jones, Tim Montgomery, Kelli White, and Chryste Gaines.
March 2, 2004 -- San Francisco Chronicle reports that Barry Bonds, Jason Giambi, Gary Sheffield, Marvin Benard, Benito Santiago, Randy Velarde, and Bill Romanowski received steroids from BALCO.
Feb. 23, 2004 -- Giambi, noticeably thinner in spring training, says he's only lost about 4 pounds and that he was "cleaning up his diet" during the offseason. Asked about taking steroids, he responds "no."
Dec. 11, 2003 -- Giambi testifies in front of grand jury and admits to using steroids provided by Greg Anderson and BALCO. This would not be disclosed until Dec. 2, 2004.
July 2003 -- Giambi testifies on Dec. 11, 2003 that he received final batch of drugs from Anderson but elects not to use it due to his knee injury.
January-July 2003 -- Giambi testifies on Dec. 11, 2003 that Anderson supplies Giambi with the steroids "The Clear" or "THG", which is a liquid-based steroid placed under the tongue. He also provides a testosterone-based balm called "The Cream." Giambi is also supplied with testosterone that is to be injected into the stomach or buttocks. In addition, Giambi is supplied with various masking drugs to hide steroids in drug tests. Giambi spends between $7,000 to $10,000 on drugs provided to him by Anderson.
November-December 2002 -- Giambi testifies on Dec. 11, 2003 that he met Anderson in Burlingame, CA and provided blood and urine samples that were taken to BALCO (shortly thereafter, Anderson begins discussing with Giambi the various types of performance-enhancing drugs that he could provide him).
November 2002 -- Giambi testifies on Dec. 11, 2003 that he was introduced to Barry Bonds personal trainer Greg Anderson in Japan. He inquires about how Bonds stays in such good shape.
2001 -- Giambi testifies on Dec. 11, 2003 that he uses injectable steroid Deca-Durabolin. He obtained it from a source at a Las Vegas "Gold's Gym." 2001 was Giambi's final season in Oakland.
