Great Outdoor Games begin
Celebration, Fla. Calling all outdoor enthusiasts! ESPN's Great Outdoor Games presented by Dodge, the ultimate championship in outdoor sports, kicks off tomorrow at noon at Disney's Wide World of Sports ® Complex. The Games' will air on ESPN and ABC just a few days later, July 13-17.
Thursday marks the opening day of competition where athletes will battle head-to -head for medals, prizes and the glory of being named Great Outdoor Games champions.
More than 180 athletes from around the world will face the elements in four days of intense competition. Sporting Dogs, Timber and Target events as well as ATV competitions make up the 20 total events taking place both at Disney's Wide World of Sports ® Complex and Tenoroc Shooting Sports and Training Facility in Lakeland.
Tomorrow's opening festivities include ATV practice, Women's Log Rolling and Agility events, Archery practice and Speed Climbing and Hot Saw events.
The remaining events, including Superjack, Rifle, Big Air and more, are spread throughout the weekend.
Fans can catch the Great Outdoor Games live July 7-10, 2005 at Disney's Wide World of Sports ® Complex and Tenoroc Shooting Sports and Training Facility. Admission to the 2005 Great Outdoor Games at Disney's Wide World of Sports ® Complex is $5 per person per day, with children 10 and under free. Admission to Tenoroc Shooting Sports and Training Facility is free. Re-entry is allowed each day. Tickets can be purchased on ticketmaster.com through June 26 and purchased at the door the day of the event.
