Mickelson holes out at 84 Lumber Classic
FARMINGTON, Pa. -- Phil Mickelson used a 7-iron for a
hole-in-one at the 200-yard No. 7 hole during Saturday's third
round of the 84 Lumber Classic.
Mickelson's ace was the fourth in three years of PGA Tour play
on the Mystic Rock course at the Nemacolin Woodlands Resort. Three
of the four were at No. 7, a downhill hole that can play as long as
223 yards and is guarded by a large bunker on the left side.
The hole-in-one was the fifth of Mickelson's PGA career and the
23rd on tour this year. Mickelson was playing Saturday after almost
missing the cut for the first time this year. He was at even par
through two rounds.
