Wyoming forward Williams 'day to day' with injury
CHEYENNE, Wyo. -- Wyoming forward Justin Williams has been
out of practice with a "slight knee sprain," according to
athletics department spokesman Kevin McKinney.
Williams hurt his knee in practice early this week. "They put
it in a brace but it's not serious, thank God,'' McKinney said
He expected Williams to return to action at some point. "I
don't know exactly when,'' he said. "I'll just say 'day to day.' ''
The Cowboys begin action with home exhibition games against
Colorado State-Pueblo on Wednesday and Chadron State on Nov. 8. The
regular season begins with the Black Coaches Association
Invitational at home Nov. 13-15.
Williams, a senior from Chicago, was ranked No. 11 in the nation
in blocked shots last season, averaging 2.89 per game. He ranked
first in the Mountain West Conference for blocked shots and was the
league's defensive player of the year.
He set a conference record with four blocked shots against BYU
on Feb. 12 and also set a conference record with 81 blocked shots
Williams averaged 8.9 points and 6.4 rebounds last season.
