Illinois coach Weber breaks foot
By Andy Katz
IIlinois coach Bruce Weber fractured his right ankle while working outside his home over the weekend and will wear a boot on his foot for the next few weeks.
Weber was on the trip to North Carolina for Tuesday night's ACC-Big Ten Challenge and plans on standing for much of the game like he does most of the time. Illinois spokesperson Kent Brown said Weber is in pain and has had swelling but doesn't plan on slowing down.
"He's hobbling around," Brown told The Associated Press. "He was trying to keep it
elevated as much as he could."
Weber will wear a protective boot for the next 10 days to two
weeks, Brown told the AP.
Last November, Weber had an emergency appendectomy four days
before his team's season opener. He missed one day of practice and
was on the bench to coach the game.
