Victor Conte, the man who founded BALCO and supplied illegal performance-enhancing drugs to some of the world's greatest athletes, went to prison Thursday. ABC News' "Nightline" joined Conte on the drive to the minimum-security prison in Taft, Calif., where he will serve a four-month term.
It was one year ago when Conte, in an interview with Martin Bashir on ABC News' "20/20" and in a first-person story in ESPN The Magazine, revealed the names of athletes he supplied with supplements. On Thursday's broadcast, Conte shared his views with Bashir on the recent congressional hearings, baseball's new drug-testing policy, and how athletes are still able to beat the system today.
