India's Singh wins China Open by one stroke

BEIJING -- Jeev Milkha Singh of India shot a 2-under 70 Sunday to win the China Open, finishing one stroke ahead of Gonzalo Fernandez-Castano.

Singh had four birdies and two bogeys for a 10-under 278 at the Beijing Honghua International Golf Club. The win was only the second by an Indian player on the PGA European Tour and Singh's first win in 13 years.

Fernandez-Castano of Spain also shot 70 but had a bogey on the final hole. Overnight leader David Lynn of England (73) was another stroke back.

Defending champion Paul Casey of England (72) and countryman Simon Wakefield (71) joined Australians Jarrod Lyle (70), Peter Fowler (71) three shots behind Singh.
