Vikings' Smith inactive for game against Redskins
LANDOVER, Md. -- Minnesota Vikings safety Dwight Smith, who
was cited for alleged indecent conduct two weeks ago, was inactive
for Monday night's game against the Washington Redskins.
The Vikings said Smith was inactive due to a "coach's
decision." New coach Brad Childress has vowed to change the
culture of the team that was belittled following last year's
infamous boat party involving several players.
Smith and a woman were cited for alleged indecent conduct
outside a downtown Minneapolis nightclub on Aug. 26.
Another player involved in a preseason incident, receiver Koren
Robinson, was cut after he was charged with drunken driving and
fleeing police following a high-speed chase near the team's
training camp. Robinson agreed to terms with Green Bay earlier
