Just about every Bears fan has a theory on how to ensure the good Rex Grossman shows up for the playoffs. But perhaps actor George Wendt, a Chicago native and part of the famed Saturday Night Live skit, "Bill Swerski's Superfans" has the most creative idea of all.
"Remember the image in Godfather 2 where Frank Pentangeli was getting ready to testify against Michael and then they flew Michael's brother in from Sicili and the guy just sat there and stared at Frank until he could barely speak?" Wendt said. "Well, I figure Steve Spurrier is off for a few weeks. He's got nothing to do right now. I say we bring in Spurrier, just sit him in a chair and let him just stare at Grossman until we shake this thing out of him. It's gotta work."
Wendt, who is currently on tour with the play, "Twelve Angry Men," will be on stage in Louisville for the kickoff of Sunday's playoff game against the Seahawks.
"But don't worry," he said. "I'll be in my hotel in time to watch the second half."
