Here's a quick reference guide to the first half of the Fantasy PGA Season. Note: "Sure Shots" are those who traditionally perform well; "Duffers" are those who tend to struggle.

JAN. 4-7
Mercedes-Benz Championship
Plantation Course at Kapalua, Maui, Hawaii
Par/Length/Purse: 73 / 7,411 yards / $5.5 million
Course details: Wind is a huge factor; plays short in calm conditions.
Champion: Stuart Appleby
Sure Shots: Stuart Appleby, Vijay Singh, David Toms
Duffers: Aaron Baddeley, Trevor Immelman
Will Tiger Woods show up? No
Good to know: Appleby is the reigning champion three years running; he owns this tournament.

JAN. 11-14
Sony Open in Hawaii
Waialae CC
Par/Length/Purse: 70 / 7,060 yards / $5.2 million
Course details: Like its Hawaiian sister, also plays very short in calm conditions.
Champion: David Toms
Sure Shots: Chad Campbell, Jim Furyk, Stewart Cink
Duffers: Mike Weir, Justin Rose

Good to know: Those who play well at Kapalua usually repeat that at Waialae; keep a close eye on what happens the week before.

JAN. 17-21
Bob Hope Chrysler Classic
The Classic Club, PGA West (Palmer Course), La Quinta CC, Bermuda Dunes CC (California)
Par/Length/Purse: 72 / 7,305/6,950/7,060/7,017 yards, respectively / $5 million
Course details: A five-day tournament on four courses; Bermuda Dunes is the easiest.
