Jags land Northcutt; Bucs agree with Askew news services

Jacksonville Jaguars: The Jaguars agreed to terms with veteran receiver Dennis Northcutt.

The former Browns receiver agreed to a $17 million, five-year contract with a $4.5 million signing bonus.

Northcutt was expected in Jacksonville on Sunday to take a physical and is scheduled to be formally introduced on Monday.

Northcutt was just the fifth-leading receiver for the Browns in 2006, with 22 cathes for 228 yards, but he also is Cleveland's all-time leading punt returner.

Cleveland Browns: Defensive back Kenny Wright signed a three-year contract with Cleveland on Sunday, making him the third free agent the Browns have signed.

Wright had 43 tackles and one interception in 16 games, including nine starts, for the Washington Redskins last season.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers: The Buccaneers reached agreement with free agent fullback B.J. Askew, who played for the New York Jets the past four seasons.

The 26-year-old Askew was a third-round selection by the Jets in the 2003 draft.

Askew has 102 yards rushing on 27 carries and 12 catches for 73 yards in four seasons while being used mainly as a blocker. He hasn't scored a touchdown.
