AFL Power Rankings
(Heading into Week 17)
1. (1) Dallas (14-1)
Last week: Beat New York 67-13
This week: at Colorado
A solid night by QB Clint Dolezel (four TD passes) and an even better night by the Desperados defense (three interceptions) led to an easy win over struggling New York.
2. (2) Georgia (13-2)
Last week: Beat Orlando 55-44
This week: vs. New Orleans
With eight more TD passes, giving him an AFL record of 111 for the season, QB Chris Greisen led the Force to another big win over rival Orlando.
3. (3) San Jose (12-3)
Last week: Beat Arizona 66-26
This week: at Las Vegas
The passing combo of QB Mark Grieb and WR James Roe was too much for the struggling Arizona defense. The SaberCats defense also took advantage of an Arizona offense playing without QB Sherdrick Bonner.
4. (4) Chicago (11-4)
Last week: Beat Colorado 66-57
This week: vs. Kansas City
The Rush played a solid game in all areas, especially the run offense and kick returns. They now have a chance to win their division this weekend.
5. (5) Kansas City (10-5)
Last week: Beat Nashville 66-63
This week: at Chicago
The Brigade defense played a solid game with good pressure up front, big plays by DB Kenny McEntyre, including an INT return for a TD, and it controlled the Nashville run game in a solid home win.
6. (7) Los Angeles (9-6)
Last week: Beat Las Vegas 60-42
This week: vs. Utah
The Avengers defense dominated the undermanned Las Vegas offense and L.A. QB Sonny Cumbie played a solid game (six TD passes) in an easy home win.
7. (6) Orlando (8-7)
Last week: Lost to Georgia 55-44
This week: at Philadelphia
The Predators' usually reliable defense gave up eight TD passes to Georgia QB Chris Greisen and Orlando could just not matchup versus the explosive Force offense.
8. (9) Tampa Bay (8-7)
Last week: Beat Grand Rapids 69-40
This week: vs. Austin
A huge game by defensive linemen Tim McGill (two sacks, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery for a touchdown) set the tone as the surging Storm won easily on the road and locked up a playoff spot.
9. (8) Colorado (8-7)
Last week: Lost to Chicago 66-57
This week: vs. Dallas
Colorado played hard but Chicago's defense made big stops when it had to and the Crush offense couldn't make enough big plays down the stretch.
10. (10) Utah (7-8)
Last week: Bye
This week: at Los Angeles
After a week off, the Blaze face division rival Los Angeles and if they don't play with more consistency on defense, they will lose.
11. (11) Philadelphia (7-8)
Last week: Beat Columbus 56-53
This week: vs. Orlando
Tony Graziani led the Soul to a TD and two-point conversion with seven seconds left to edge Columbus and earn a playoff spot.

12. (12) Columbus (6-9)
Last week: Lost to Philadelphia 56-53
This week: at New York
The Destroyers controlled the clock and the lead for most of the night, but they gave up a late TD to lose a heartbreaker to Philadelphia.
13. (13) Nashville (6-9)
Last week: Lost to Kansas City 66-63
This week: vs. Grand Rapids
The Kats' vaunted run game was stalled by a good Kansas City defense and the Nashville defense could not control Kansas City QB Raymond Philyaw.
14. (16) New Orleans (5-10)
Last week: Beat Austin 66-61
This week: at Georgia
The VooDoo ended a seven-game losing streak with a solid game by QB Steve Bellisari and capitalized on Austin turnovers to win their home finale.
15. (15) Arizona (4-12)
Last week: Lost to San Jose 66-26
This week: Bye
The San Jose defense totally shut down the Arizona defense in the second half (six points) and without injured QB Sherdrick Bonner, the Rattlers had no chance.
16. (14) New York (5-10)
Last week: Lost to Dallas 67-13
This week: vs. Columbus
The fading Dragons, without QB Aaron Garcia, were outclassed in every category versus Dallas as backup QB Rohan Davey just couldn't get anything going.
17. (18) Grand Rapids (4-11)
Last week: Lost to Tampa Bay 69-40
This week: at Nashville
The Rampage offensive line could not contain Tampa Bay defensive linemen Tim McGill and the Storm defense totally shut down Grand Rapids in the fourth quarter.
18. (17). Austin (4-11)
Last week: Lost to New Orleans 66-61
This week: at Tampa Bay
The Wranglers played hard at New Orleans but couldn't overcome key turnovers and couldn't stop VooDoo QB Steve Bellisari.
19. (19) Las Vegas (2-13)
Last week: Lost to Los Angeles 60-42
This week: vs. San Jose
The undermanned Gladiators could not contain the pressure from the Los Angeles defense and Las Vegas' QB inconsistency led to another lopsided loss.
