Arizona's Bayless sidelined with sprained right knee

Associated Press

MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- Arizona scoring leader Jerryd Bayless missed the Wildcats' (No. 18 ESPN/USA Today, No. 17 AP) game Saturday night against No. 2 Memphis because of a sprained right knee.

Bayless was injured during practice Friday, and had an MRI early Saturday that revealed the sprain, Arizona spokesman Richard Paige said.

The starting point guard is averaging 18.5 points this season.

Sophomore guard Nic Wise started in place of Bayless.

Reserve forward Bret Brielmaier also missed the game for the Wildcats because of a separated left shoulder.
