Judd goes with jeans for 500
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- I would be remiss in not reporting that Ashley Judd did not wear a dress to the Daytona 500.
Because this is as close as I'll come to getting the movie star wife of Dario Franchitti out of her dress.
Sorry, too easy.
What started out as a fun blog last Sunday when Judd wore a dress to qualifying, which is a violation of NASCAR dress etiquette, grew to the point that the governing body had to suggest she should wear pants to future events.
So on Sunday, amid the pageantry of prerace activities, Judd arrived wearing blue jeans and a blue shirt with a floppy hat. She did all she could not to make herself a part of the event, standing by the pit road fence during the national anthem rather than with her husband -- as most wives or significant others do.
That officially closed the door on this Judd-blog, which Franchitti's owner, Chip Ganassi, actually thought was a serious movement until it was accurately explained.
Now it's on to more pressing issues, such as drivers who have undergone plastic surgery to enhance their image.
