Niners agree to two-year contract with Sims
By John Clayton
The San Francisco 49ers beat out the rival St. Louis Rams for the services of former Oakland Raiders offensive lineman Barry Sims.
Sims agreed to a two-year deal but financial terms weren't available.
Though not promised a chance to start, Sims is expected to compete for playing time at right tackle.
Sims, 33, is entering his 10th season. He is a 6-foot-5, 305-pound blocker with left tackle experience.
